Coyote StageWorks Postpones “The Velocity of Autumn” to Fall

Coyote StageWorks, the Coachella Valley-based award-winning Actors’ Equity professional theater company, made the difficult decision to suspend its production of “The Velocity of Autumn,” which had been scheduled to open on March 13. Out of an abundance of caution, Coyote StageWorks decided to halt the production to help ensure the safety of its audience, cast and crew, and its community. “The Velocity of Autumn” will now be its first show of next season, and will run November 13 through November 22 at the Palm Springs Cultural Center.

“The coronavirus situation changes from day to day, and we have watched and listened as government guidelines have evolved,” said Chuck Yates, Founding Artistic Director. “While it’s possible that theaters may be allowed to reopen in April or May, the uncertainty is real and may keep people away. This is a great show, and it would have been a shame if not many people were able to see it, so we decided to postpone it and making it our opening production next season.”

Yates added, “While we are offering refunds for tickets that were purchased for the production, we humbly ask our patrons to consider accepting a gift certificate for a future Coyote StageWorks production, or turning their tickets into a donation.”

Coyote StageWorks benefits from the expert leadership of its Board of Directors, comprised of Don Amendolia, Julie Balbini, Harriet Baron, Dennis Flaig-Moore, Kathy Friedle, Tony Marchese, Larry Raben, and David Youse. It also benefits from the insights and advice from its Advisory Board, comprised of Carol Fragen, Dorothy Lefkowitz, John Monahan, Ann Sheffer, Martin Wiviott, and Barbara Keller (Emeritus)
